LOLMath (reprise) - LOLMac

LOLMath (reprise)
Creation Con has been fun – I’d take Gatecon over it any day, but it’s really great seeing folks.

And, still thanks to the amazing lemonpiefirefly, I got several autographs, including one from Amanda Tapping, who is even more gorgeous and charming in person than she is on screen. I had the chance to ask her if she was familiar with “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” – she is, she loves it – and I gave her one of the laminated LOLs: LOLMath. (Of course! What else?)

She finded her true calling

She's amazing. Her stint on stage is late this afternoon; it's going to mean a very late departure for me homewards, but that's the way it has to be.

Yay! Glad you had a good time. And you are correct in the Gatecon v. Creation thing. I've enjoyed many Creation cons, and I'm not an 800 lb gorilla basher, but fan run cons are (almost) always better.

It's been nice -- but it would have been waaay better with you and Lothi and Grrl here too!

You were back in Vancouver? Didn't know! And yeah, I also have seen Amanda two times already (Gatecon not counting) and she blew me away as well.

What did she say to the LOLMath?

It happened while I was in the autograph line (the autographs were part of the package LPFF had). I had just been dazzled by Michael Shanks being mind-bogglingly sweet and nice (and cute and hunky), and then got further bedazzled by Amanda's gigawatt smile.

We had been firmly told DO NOT ASK FOR PERSONALISATIONS on the autographs. Well, apparently Michael and Amanda had other plans -- step up to the table and it's "What's your name? Where are you from? Are you having a good time?" Anyone would think the actors preferred personal interactions rather than, oh, being reduced to signature machines.

I'd decided long since that if I had the chance, I'd give her a copy of LOLMath (as a laminated card, not a pin). I had it on hand in my pocket.

I gave Amanda my poster to autograph, and asked her if she was familiar with HH Guide. She beamed and said yes, she loved it; I gave her the LOLMac and said something about Sam Carter inventing Bistromath. She studied it for a moment and then smiled and laughed, and held out her hand and squeezed mine and thanked me.

There were two or three bouquets of flowers on the table beside her, so she had apparently been receiving gifts from others already; no surprise!
