a quick, out-of-sequence note
Yes, I supposedly only post about writing on weekends, if then.  Buuuut . . .

For those who have been waiting, patiently (or not) during the long stretch since I last updated "Reverb" -- chapter 9 has just gone online here at ff.net.  The first chapter starts here, if you haven't read any of it.  If you haven't read it, for heaven's sake don't start in the middle -- seriously!

My apologies for the long delay; January was a brutal month, to say the least.  I want to give a special shout out to my partner and to Lothi, whose encouragement never lagged, and to curuchamion, who pointed me towards the fic_rush community last weekend, which led in turn to my finally getting the damned thing finished.

If it helps make up for the lag at all -- it's a long chapter, over 5500 words.  It includes whumpage and even a brief amount of shirtlessness, so we have two out of three.

For those not familiar with this kind of post here:  don't blink, or you'll miss it; I'll be archiving it when I go to make the next LOLMac post.  But damn it.  It's taken me almost six weeks to get back to posting!  And I didn't take any of that as a hiatus; the writing was very sluggish is all.

So consider yourselves encouraged to go read and comment and pat my head and cheer.  Not that I'm, you know, a feedback junkie or anything . . . okay, I am.

Woohoo! A grand thing to wake up to. There will be comments, later. Because as usual it's too substantial and awesome for drive-by feedback.

I sat down a week or so ago to write a totally cheesy implausible piece of just-cheer-me-up fic and am six thousand words into something that will still be utter cheddar but at least won't be the spray cheez in a can I guess. Why can't writing just be easy? *footstomp* So I totally hear you on the lag between chapters. But it was so worth the wait.

*bounces with glee*

Incidentally, did you notice in passing the short piece "Off Track"? I got that posted during the long slow crawl through chapter 9. It's very angsty and all that.

Yay for you! And you're very welcome for the pointer - glad to be of service! (Especially when it means more people for fic_rush! *g*)

(Not that I'm even following "Reverb"... but hey, sooner you're done, sooner I can read it without getting totally stressed out and confused in the middle while waiting for updates!)

This time around, unless you fancy WIPs for their own sake, waiting is not a bad option. I have this penchant for cliffhangers, you see . . .

When I was writing Aftershocks, I was able to sustain a weekly update schedule, so the suspense and stress was somewhat mitigated. Updates on this one aren't coming anywhere close to weekly. I wish they would!

It's a great read -- the descriptions are amazing :)

Call me out of the loop, but what did you mean in your post when you said:

"It includes whumpage and even a brief amount of shirtlessness, so we have two out of three" ??

What's three?

#3 would be wet. The Great Mac Triad is shirtless, wet, and whumped. Lothi and I have a private pledge that every fic will include at least one of the three; we often manage all three at different times, and often two out of three at the same time, but only Lothi has managed all three simultaneously. So far. *g*

And, needless to say, I'm very much in your debt for the medical research . . . and yes, there will be more questions Very Soon.
